Douglas L. Cohen, Ph.D.
Psychotherapist in Washington, DC
Finding a good therapist is very challenging. Therapists are not all the same. We differ greatly in therapeutic approach, level of skill, length of experience, personal style and areas of expertise. It took me three tries before I found a therapist who was really skilled and able to provide me the help I needed.
I work with people who want to make significant changes in their lives and are willing to take responsibility to do so. To make these changes, they need to understand the true causes of their problems and what is required to make lasting change. My aim is to help people have a rich fulfilling life. To have such a life requires self-awareness, empathy and the ability to connect emotionally.
Therapy is an investment in the quality of your life now and in the future. It is a gift you give yourself. The changes you make in your life will also benefit those around you including your spouse/partner, children, friends and coworkers.
